Hello World!

If you are taking the time to read this, THANK YOU! I decided to start a blog to give myself an outlet during this challenge I'm facing trying to keep my son on a path of bilingual education in Montgomery County. Andrew has been in bilingual preschool for nearly 3 years and is fluent in Spanish. He graduates from county funded CentroNia in Takoma Park in June and we have NO IDEA where he is going to school next year. We're trying to figure it out now, but surprisingly, it ain't easy! Montgomery county has elementary school immersion programs but admission is decided by lottery. Then there is Washington International School, which is more than $20000 a year. At times we fear it seems like our Andrew may be forced to abandon his bilingual course of study. But I am one parent who's not going down without a fight! Wheteher it be one of the roughly 12 slots at WIS or in a county program I am going to crusade for his education and if you like what you're reading, you can go along for the voyage too!
